Only 1/3 of the people wanted to repeal Obamacare. So why do the Republicans continue on this blather of repeal when the majority of folks want reform not repeal.
Why, when polls indicate people really want a Single Payer or Medicaid for All solution, as many as 60% at this polling, do the majority of Republicans persist in taking health care away from millions? Some people describe their actions as filled with hatred. I prefer to think that they suffer from self-serving interests. There really isn’t anything such as hate, there is only a lack of love.
What must people like Rand Paul, and the members of the Freedom Caucus or House Freedom Caucus see in order to wake up to the lack of love they are projecting? What story might touch their hearts? They are of the position that the government shouldn’t provide ANY health care. Everyone should be on their own and fair game to whatever capitalistic system takes form. No one should care about each other’s needs.
The elephant in the room with this position is that it is in direct contradiction to our founding fathers and the documents that create and define our Country. This is supposed to be a country that provides “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” When health care becomes a source of stress, a source of financial ruin, a source of family demise, then there is no longer liberty or the ability for the pursuit of happiness.
Extreme Far-Right positions are quite frankly unpatriotic and we need to start calling these folks out for what they are. They are in essence traitors to our principles.
Every other civilized Country in the world provides health care to their citizens. We must ask ourselves the hard question: Who are we? Because right now, we are in complete discordance with the intent of our Founding Fathers and the character of the Country they dreamed of creating.
Stand firm for your rights to the kind of health care every other advanced country offers their people! We deserve it! We have become a heartless nation, governed by the very rich who care nothing about you or me, but only themselves and how much money they can make off of us.
Make your thoughts known to your current representation and ask that they stand for love, #InsistOnLove and that they represent you.
There are a number of items that need adjustment around the issues of representation. In addition to getting money out of politics, Representatives at the federal level should be able to split their vote into percentages because most districts are a blend of viewpoints. I think making this adjustment would aid in eliminating the Electoral College, which no longer functions correctly, (if it ever did).
Let’s forget about the Party labels come November 2018 and instead vote for individuals who believe what we believe, who want for us what we want for ourselves and who will go into government truly representing our wishes, not serving themselves or worse, serving a “party.” #InsistOnLove
We must come out of this health care debate with a Single Payer or Medicaid for All solution. It is time to step into the 21st century and embrace that we are all one and connected. When one of is sick and poor, it touches us all. In the end, there is no escaping the karma of our actions. The people governing the United States of America right now are acting in heartless and unpatriotic ways. I encourage you to make your voice heard if they are not representing you.
